New Tata Sierra EV Launching Soon – ICE Fans Might Be Disappointed!

New Tata Sierra: Electric Debut First, Petrol and Diesel to Follow Tata Motors is set to revive the iconic Sierra, and this time, it’s going electric right out of the gate. The production-ready version made its public debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in New Delhi, and the official launch is expected before the end of this financial year. The electric Sierra will hit the market first, with the petrol and diesel versions to follow later.

The final design of the Sierra EV stays true to the earlier concept, keeping most of the signature styling cues that made the original so memorable. Tata has big plans for its EV lineup, with several new models scheduled to arrive by FY30. The electric Sierra is expected to offer two battery options, with a driving range that could exceed 500 km—similar to what we’ve seen with the recently launched Harrier EV.

On the tech front, the Sierra EV is likely to support fast DC charging and may include advanced features like vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-vehicle charging. There’s also a chance Tata will offer a dual-motor setup, as seen in the Harrier EV, and a lifetime battery warranty could be part of the package.

Design-wise, the new Sierra pays tribute to the original’s classic shape but updates it with modern proportions and details. A standout feature is the blacked-out roof that blends into the panoramic sunroof, creating a sleek glass band and giving the illusion of a floating roof. Bold shoulder lines, large alloy wheels, sharp creases, and a full-width LED light bar give the Sierra a strong, confident look on the road.

Under the skin, the ICE version of the Sierra is expected to get a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine producing 168 PS and 280 Nm of torque. Tata may also keep the 2.0-litre diesel engine, which delivers around 170 PS and 350 Nm.

Inside, the Sierra will be loaded with features: a large touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, a separate display for the front passenger, panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, and more.
